Shannon Tucker graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Professional and Creative Writing. She has a love and passion for stories from both real life and her imagination.
Shannon has always hoped to work towards a career as a print journalist. She has an appetite for the fast-paced world of journalism, accompanied with a burning desire to discover, create, write and share stories.
Her favourite types of stories to write are human interest stories, as she believes everyone has a captivating story to tell.
Over the course of her education, Shannon has taken steps to explore various forms of writing and extend her professional possibilities. In 2015 she did work experience in media departments of the The Knox Council and The Salvation Army. In 2018 - 2019 she took part in an internship experience as a live courtside journalist for the WNBL’s, Deakin Melbourne Boomers. In 2019 - 2020 she was selected as a delegate for a global journalism exchange to Morocco.
Shannon has been published in the Salvation Army's, Warcry, Deakin University's, D*scribe, Global JX and The Junction. She was broadcast live on Fox Sports' website and her pre-packaged content also made it to air.
Shannon is always seeking opportunities to learn new skills as a writer and journalist. Over the next few years, she hopes to do some freelance work as a travel writer when she moves to the UK in 2021.
